Who the tables play for.

One charity per evening, named on the invitation. The total raised is published here, with the charity's confirmation, within the month.

Members choose the next charity at each evening, from three put forward by the host. Any member can nominate a charity through the contact page.

The ledger

Later evenings are added here as they are announced on the invitation.

What a charity receives

1. Everything the tables raise that evening, in full, within fourteen days. Nothing comes off the top for the room, the host, or the evening itself. What the ledger shows against a charity's name is what lands in its account, in the fortnight after the last chip is counted.
2. The charity's name on every invitation sent for that evening, and on the board in the room that night, seen by everyone at the tables. The charity is chosen before a single guest arrives, so the cause is part of the evening from the first line of the card.
3. A written confirmation of the total, signed by the charity's named contact, published beside the figure on this page within the month. Members see the same number the charity signs off on. No total appears here that a charity has not confirmed in writing first.

What we ask of a charity

• A registered New Zealand charity, with a current registration number.
• A named contact who can speak for the charity and confirm figures.
• Willingness to confirm the raised figure in writing once the evening closes.
