Black tie and masks.

Black tie because everyone arrives as the same silhouette, and a mask because the room still has to work out who you are once you are standing in it. Nobody gets that read off a jacket label or a name at the door. It comes the slow way, across a table, over the course of an evening, from how you talk, how you play and how you lose. That is the whole point of asking a room full of strangers to look the same walking in.
A half mask, covering the eyes and the bridge of the nose, nothing more. It hides enough of a face to matter and leaves the rest of it alone.
The mouth stays clear because you are there to speak, order a drink and be heard across a table. A mask that muffles you is the wrong mask.
One can be lent to you at the door if you arrive without. A lent mask is a loan, not a keepsake, and it comes back before you leave.
